Why employer branding?
When I first entered the company as a member of the recruitment team, the company had no marketing department. All of the recruitment activities were mainly executed by one HR employee.
After two months working there, I proposed forming a marketing team to work on employer branding, enhancing the company’s external image, hence, to attract more talents to join the company. I recruited one designer and one marketing intern for the team. Together we redesigned the company’s branding visuals such as: brochure, handbook and rewrote the contents on social media channels. The company’s external events were also promoted more professionally, targeted to a larger audience. The company successfully attracted more young talents to join the “Sioux tribe”.
Below is the company’s brochure that was used in every company’s event such as: Hot or Not, recruitment fairs at local Tech Universities, etc. I planned, crafted the concept, and wrote the contents. The design was done by my teammate: Ky Pham – one of the talented colleagues I have had chance to work with in my career.
Moreover, during my time there, I initiated some internal activities such as TOEIC exams, one-on-one tutoring English for the engineers (who need to communicate with the team in Netherlands), redecorating the office’s space, etc.
The brochure introduced the recruitment process under the form of a conditional loop in the beginning, followed by the projects done at Sioux Vietnam, which I found very interesting and can be a unique selling point to attract potential employees. Besides, the voice of the company’s leaders, growth prospect, ways of working and benefit packages were added to the brochure to provide a holistic view so that developers could easily decide whether to send an application or not.
